UBC Sauder Scholarships and Awards Overview

To qualify for the following scholarships, you will need to meet the merit requirements.

Lets us look at the payment schedule for the scholarship – 

• Under $1,000 – paid out entirely in one term  
• $1,000 – $5,999 – paid out in two terms (equal installments)
• $6,000 or greater – paid out over the three terms of the year (33.3% in September, 33.3% in January, and 33.4% in May)

1. Early entrance scholarship

This is open to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents who apply by the 2nd deadline with all required supporting documents and will automatically consider for the Early Entrance Scholarship.

2. Regional top talent scholarships

This is for applicants from different regions and is among the top MBA applicants who demonstrate exceptional aptitude and academic excellence.

4. Responsible Business & Community Spirit Scholarship

For those who are highly talented with a track record of social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and dedication to a social cause.

Value: $10,000 – $60,000

5. Hoegg Family MBA Scholarship

This is for female applicants who are on top of their academic merit as well as have exceptional leadership skills.

This is provided by Hoegg Family to a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or an international applicant.

Value: $25,000

6. Hari Varshney MBA Entrance Scholarship

This is for only one International student who demonstrates exceptional aptitude and academic excellence.

Value: Up to 50% of tuition fees

7. Madhu Varshney MBA Entrance Scholarship

Only one international applicant who demonstrates exceptional aptitude and academic excellence, with a preference for international applicants.

8. Dean’s Entrance Scholarship

This is for applicants with an exceptional track record of academic excellence, community involvement, and business leadership skills.

Any Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international applicants who embody a strong alignment with UBC Sauder values of rigor, respect, and responsibility are eligible for this.

Value: $20,000 – $60,000

9. International Talent Scholarships

For top talent international MBA applicants who reflect the highest standards of academic excellence.

10. Michael & Sonja Koerner Indigenous Fellowship

This is for only a Canadian person who is indigenous in Commerce & Business Administration with a preference for a graduate-level applicant.

Value: $11,000

11. Dean’s Excellence in Diversity Award

This is for all those MBA applicants who are a member of an underrepresented community and equity deserving. 

A total of six awards are to be granted.

Scholars will be selected based on their demonstrated commitment to building a culture of inclusion in their communities and excellence in academic and professional settings.

12. Ray Kruck & Jennifer Vancini Climate Action Leadership MBA Entrance Award

This is for those who are highly passionate about sustainability as well as climate action-related work. Two awards of $10,000 each are to be provided by Ray Kruck and Jennifer Vancini as a gift.

Eligibility

Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for UBC Sauder scholarships and awards,

Although all the scholarships discussed above may have some specific eligibility which is already discussed there are some common criteria that every student must qualify to be eligible for any of the mentioned scholarships and those are

• Applicants must be both international students, Canadian citizens, and permanent residents UBC MBA applicants
• Applicants must enroll in a full-time program
• Proof of English Language proficiency.
• Must submit applications with proper supporting documents.

Selection Process – 

To qualify for the scholarships and awards the applicants need to meet the requirements of the merit.

Process of Application-

As soon as an applicant applies for a UBC MBA application, will automatically consider for UBC Sauder School of Business Scholarships and Awards for International Students finally, the student just has to produce their documents.

The documents include the completed application form with at least two references ( more will be better ) unofficial transcripts, unofficial degree certificates, and your test scores.
